…. mocking birds singing in the south window, roosters doing a duo out the north window…. morning has broken. Not a leaf is moving as there is no breeze and it’s chilly- 72 this morning! brrr…….However, windows and doors are still open all night but just have to pull the covers up around my neck for a few more minutes of snuggling. I LOVE late fall on our island…..just enough coolness to relax and enjoy the air! Be that as it may, I still have on my flip flops, sleeveless t-shirt, shorts but just a light jacket to keep the chill off!
Yesterday started out much the same way but by 10 it was 85 and HOT in the sun as we were pulling the kayaks out of the truck and into the mangroves for our adventure…..
We drove all the way to the north end of the island -about 40 minutes and put in our kayaks into the mangroves to paddle across the lake while tide was flowing out and the breeze was just enough to cool us!

after a 1/2 paddle we round the corner and…..there it is….Columbus Point and the “green lagoon”!!

it was a challenge to get back in the flowing waters……but we made it! What a work out!
then a bit of a walk on the beach…
We were rewarded by a great lunch on the beach!

it was great day with wonderful friends/neighbors who love the island as we do and are as amazed by all it has to offer!
